Moturiki Island

Moturiki Island looks pretty natural now, but there used to be a lot more going on here. Back in 1966, a company called Marineland Limited built an aquarium right on the island. That aquarium closed down in May of 1981. Then, later that same year, it was rebuilt into a water park called "Leisure Island." It had swimming pools, bumper boats, and even a hydro slide. That water park operated until 1990, when it was taken off the island completely. Now, it's a spot for walking, bird watching, fishing, and rock climbing.
